Polo or round neck: which is right for your company uniform?
Polo or round neck is usually the first decision in a uniform order. Both work. The right choice depends on who will wear it, where, and how often.

When a polo is the better choice
Choose polos when the uniform represents the company in front of customers. The collar holds its shape, a left-chest logo looks professional, and polos sit comfortably with trousers or chinos. They are the default for sales teams, service engineers, reception and showroom staff.
Polos are also the better base for embroidery. A stitched logo on a piqué polo looks premium and survives years of washing.
Popular polo options in our range:
- PrimoKnit Dri-fit Polo: dri-fit, light and quick-drying, from ₹320. The most popular budget choice for teams.
- Aeropique Performance Polo: 210 GSM performance polyester, from ₹510.
- Organic Cotton Polo: 270 GSM, 100% cotton, from ₹590. Soft and premium.
- Women's Fitted Polo: a proper women's cut, from ₹530.
When a round neck is the better choice
Round necks are cheaper, more relaxed and give you a bigger printing area. They are ideal when the shirt is for one day or one occasion: an offsite, a hackathon, a marathon team, a product launch or a volunteering drive. A big back print reads well in photos.
- Everyday Cotton Tee: from ₹190, good for events.
- Eco Blend Round Neck Tee: poly-cotton made with recycled bottles, from ₹230.
- Premium Crew Neck Tee: a heavier, better-finished tee, from ₹380.
Three questions to decide
- Will customers see it? If yes, lean towards polos.
- How often will it be worn? Daily uniforms justify a better fabric. One-day events do not.
- Is it hot or outdoors? Choose dri-fit polyester, polo or tee, for heat and movement.
Many companies do both: polos for customer-facing staff and round necks for events. Both can carry the same logo and colours, and you can order each style from 25 pieces.
Choosing colours
Navy, black, white, charcoal and bottle green are the safest uniform colours. They suit most skin tones, hide everyday wear and make most logos stand out. If your brand colour is bright, consider using it for the logo or as an accent rather than for the whole garment. A bright red or yellow uniform can look tired quickly.
Check how your logo will look on the garment colour. A dark logo on a navy polo disappears, so you may need a white or single-colour version. The free mockup we send before production shows exactly this.
Where to put the logo
- Polo: left chest is the classic position, about 3–4 inches wide. Add a small sleeve logo or a back print for events.
- Round neck: left chest for a subtle look, or a centred front print for impact. The back is ideal for team names and event titles.
Mixing styles in one order
It is common, and sensible, to order polos for client-facing staff and round necks for everyone else. Use the same logo and colour family so the team still looks like one company. The 25-piece minimum applies per design, so plan each style's quantity separately.
What about women's fits?
Women's fitted polos and tees look far better than unisex sizes on most women, and they get worn more. Include them in the size collection from the start. See our sizing guide.
